Browzine

Free – Browse UAMS Library holdings for electronic journals. Create an account with Browzine from your computer. Download from Google Play for Android devices and from iTune for Apple devices. When you open BrowZine for the first time, you’ll see a list of schools. Select “University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences,” then enter your UAMS Username and Password.

Cline-guide

Free – Point-of-care tool that provides one-click access to important clinical resources recommended by physicians for physicians. Coverage in the areas of Clinical, Drug, EBM, and Guideline. Formerly known as ClinicalResource@Ovid. Access for mobile site on campus. Go to http://www.unboundmedicine.com/sitelicense to register for off campus access.

Draw It To Know It Neuroanatomy

Free – Contains whiteboard tutorials, muscle-nerve directory, radiographic brain atlas and exam questions.  REGISTER on campus for a username and password to access the website and the self-assessment exams.

EBSCO Host

Free – Search tool for finding articles in Nursing (CINAHL), Psychology (PSYCINFO), some full-text. All mobile users go to the EBSCO Mobile site.  Select one of the EBSCO databases from the library website link. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the link for “New: EBSCOhost iPhone and Android Applications” and enter your email address. You will receive a message from epnet to open the message from you Android and select the link for the activation key. Download Android app from Google Play and the Apple app from iTunes and install. Plugin in activation key.

UAMS Email

Free – UAMS email on mobile devices. Select the link for  Android or iPhone to get instructions for configuring the Exchange client for your device.

Micromedex Drug Reference, Interactions, & IV Compatibility

Free – Check an entire medication list simultaneously for potential harmful interactions and view severity ratings ranging from minor to contraindicated. All mobile users go to the mobileMicromedex page and download the application for your device.

RefWorks

LactMed

Free – Database containing information on drugs and other chemicals to which breastfeeding mothers may be exposed. It includes information on the levels of such substances in breast milk and infant blood, and the possible adverse effects in the nursing infant. Suggested therapeutic alternatives to those drugs are provided, where appropriate. All data are derived from the scientific literature and fully referenced. A peer review panel reviews the data to assure scientific validity and currency. Updated Monthly as part of the National Library of Medicine TOXNET. Free – UAMS MyChart is an Internet based service that gives you access to your UAMS medical information. UAMS MyChart provides patients or their designated representatives access to personal medical information and clinic services. Go to https://mychart.uamshealth.com/ and sign up for an account.
