Central Arkansas Library Services
Employees and students who are Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) cardholders can now pick up reserved books or other material from the regional library system at the UAMS Library. These items may also be returned to the UAMS Library for check-in.
The UAMS Library in the Education II Building can now be chosen as a pick up location for material — including books, movies or other items reserved online through the CALS website, www.cals.org. Use the CALS website to find your item, then click on the “Request It” button and enter a name, library card number and PIN number to hold the material. Then you can choose the UAMS Library (or any of the 15 CALS branches in the area) as the location where you will pick up the reserved item.
Reserve items are typically ready for pick up within a couple of days, depending on if there are already other holds on the material. Library patrons can choose to be notified by email or text when their held item is ready for pick up.
Pulaski or Perry County residents may apply for a free CALS library card by completing an online application on the CALS website or in person at any CALS branch library. Employees and students living outside of Pulaski and Perry County — but who have proof of working or being enrolled in an educational facility inside the CALS service area — also may apply for a CALS library card at any CALS branch.
