The NEW Student Success Center is now open! We have gathered all of our services together on the 3rd floor of the UAMS Library. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for Student Learning Services, the Testing Center, the Writing and Presentation Center, or the Tech Hub. Come see us and learn what we can do for you.
Academic Affairs Student Success Center (AASSC) is available to UAMS faculty, staff, and students to support educational advancement.
Student Success Center Hours
The Student Success Center is open the same hours as the Library with the exception of Saturday and some holidays.

Computers are available for the following purposes:
- Educational programs or taking tests
- Microsoft Office 2010 – Word Excel, and PowerPoint
- Online searching or checking Email
- Dedicated computers for scanning and creating PDF documents
- Dedicated computers for Microsoft Office 2010 Access and Visio
- Dedicated computers for statistical data using SPSS and SA
The AASSC Testing Center is available for scheduled makeup exams, window of opportunity exams, special accommodation exams, and UAMS facutlty, staff, or students taking courses at another institution. Exams must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Students must bring ID badge or driver’s license to be able to take exams. Exams are administered NOT proctored. Computers used for exams have monitoring software with webcams.
To schedule an exam please fill out the appropriate form which will be submitted to the Testing Center. It is important that ALL correspondence be submitted to this account and NOT to an individual staff member. The Testing Center will send a confirmation once the exam has been scheduled. You will need to notify any students taking the exam (the Testing Center will not notify students)

Academic Coaching & Peer Tutoring
Academic Coaching provides students with the chance to work individually with professional staff to enhance their academic skills, gain confidence, discover motivation, and improve performance. Students are provided with opportunities to improve study and testing skills, learn about and overcome testing anxiety, and other beneficial skills to improve academically. To schedule

The Peer Tutoring program at the Student Success Center provides quality, course-specific academic support students at no cost. Tutoring sessions are tailored to meet students’ individual questions and needs and to foster independent learning. The Peer Tutors are students who have excelled in the course they tutor and have been trained to facilitate discussions on course content as well as study skills and strong academic habits.
