UAMS Library Offers Continued Access to RefWorks If You Leave UAMS
Thanks to the library’s subscription to RefWorks, a new policy allows those who established a RefWorks account while at UAMS (students, faculty, staff) to keep the account and their “personal library” of research after leaving. The library is pleased to make this commitment to scholarship and research.

How To Access RefWorks After Leaving UAMS
Go directly to RefWorks or select RefWorks from the UAMS Library’s eResources page in order to gain access to the RefWorks home page. You should not use the RefWorks link through the UAMS Library Catalog because you will no longer have a current UAMS Login ID which is required for access through the catalog.
You must use the UAMS RefWorks Group Code in order to gain access to your RefWorks account. The Group Code was provided in the initial email when your RefWorks account was opened. If you no longer have that email, you can get the Group Code by contacting the UAMS Library Reference Department at 501.686.6734 or LibraryReferenceDesk@uams.edu.
How To Make RefWorks Account Changes When Leaving UAMS
The UAMS Library asks you to make the following changes to your RefWorks account in order to help us manage your account and contact you if necessary after you have left UAMS.
Update Your User Status & Email Address
To help us track the number of participants in this program, please change your RefWorks user status to “ALUMNI.”
- Log into your RefWorks account.
- Click TOOLS then UPDATE USER INFORMATION.
- Change your email address to a non-UAMS address. It is a good idea to keep this up to date.
- In the TYPE OF USER drop-down menu, select ALUMNI.
- Click UPDATE.
