Library Saddened By Passing Of Two Friends And Former Employees

The Library lost two friends and former employees this week.

Corinne George passed away last Thursday, November 21.  She worked for many years in the circulation department of the Library.  She was 97 years old.

Margaret Rose Hogan died Monday, November 25.  She was the Director of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Library for 24 years, and worked at UAMS for a total of 32 years before retiring in 1990.   She was active in the Medical Library Association (including being named a Fellow of MLA) and the Arkansas Library Association, holding many offices in each organization.  Rose was an environmentalist serving on organizations that worked to preserve the natural beauty and resources of Arkansas, including the Ozark Society.

I’m sure that those of us who have been here long enough to know Corinne and Rose are saddened by their passing.
