Julie Holt will exhibit “A Grander Scale: Evolution of Emergence” August – September, 2014 in the UAMS Library Gallery, EDII Building. The exhibit is free and open to the community.
Holt’s artist statement reads:
“My entire life, I have been obsessed with tiny things. Until recently, this has carried through in the size of art I make.
A movement towards a grander scale, yet keeping to the tiny subject matter intrigues me.
Plants, animals, pattern and color are my inspiration and sanctuary.
I use squares and circles for the foundation of this work, and these perfectly balanced shapes are very satisfying to me.
My desire is to observe, internalize, learn from, and add to the beauty of the world.”
